At the end of our senior year of college, Barry had to make a list of top choices for duty stations. His list looked something like this...

1. Alaska

2. Hawaii

3. Japan

4. Germany

Well, he lucked up and got his number one choice. Unfortunately, he has not had the opportunity to really enjoy this place. He has been in Hawaii, Georgia, or California for all but about 20 days since October. Me on the other hand, have had the opportunity to enjoy every day here, including the ice storm in November, weeks of -40, heavy snow, and blizzard 1 & 2. He will leave sometime in May for a year and miss out on this top choice duty station for a whole other year. Baby Mac, Riley, and myself will continue to hang out in Alaska. My mom said it sure is funny how he picked Alaska and hasn't even been here to enjoy it for the full time. I agree Mama!

Murphy's Law

"Murphy's Law- Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. "
The first lesson I have learned while Barry is away.. anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and anything/ or animal that can explode, will.

Evidence Item 1: I dropped Barry off at the airport...came home, the sink fell apart.

Evidence Item 2: Riley has a massive throwing up episode leaving 6 piles of evidence on our rugs, white carpet, and the bottom of my sock.
Evidence Item 3: In the middle of the throwing up episode, the "Tile Man" comes and busts a hole in the wall in the wrong bathroom. 

Evidence Item 4: During the massive throwing up episode Riley throws up a sock.
Evidence Item 5: Riley has surgery to get fixed-- it went well. But the ear cleaning didn't go as well resulting in a busted ear drum.

Evidence Item 6: Riley takes pain medicine for the busted ear drum leading in a massive diarrhea episode in his kennel.
Evidence Item 7: Sweet Daddy cleans Riley from the massive diarrhea episode and gets him dry and Riley has an explosion on the white carpet that was just cleaned from the throwing up episode 2 days before.
Evidence Item 8: Car window works perfect fine. Car window no longer works perfectly fine. This becomes a slight problem when you live in Alaska.
Evidence Item 9: Black ink pen explosion in and on the washing machine, right where the scratches are on top.
And lastly, Evidence Item 10: If there will be a small  blizzard, -40 degree temps, or ice storm, it will happen while Barry is away.

 Needless to say, I will be happy to have my husband home with me again.

So much for New Years Resolutions...

I have not stood to my New Year's resolution very well with my blogging. Maybe one day I will get better at this, like laundry, cleaning the kitchen, and cleaning the car. All things I am working on! I have met a new friend  in Alaska who is OCD. She loves to  be organized and make list and keep things clean. She told me this week I needed to make list. My reply to her was, I am a list maker only keeping up with the list is my problem. I should have taken a picture of my list for my 365 day project. Picture soon to come!
